My daughter is dating a convicted felon

Don't write off a date just because of a pesky criminal record. Many people would say that there are dangers of dating a criminal and even advocate checking criminal records of online daters. In many situations where your potential date is a criminal there is reason to be cautious. However, simply deciding that there is a problem based on the single fact that the person is a criminal is a form of absolutist thinking. It does not take into account that there are people that have committed crimes or been convicted of crimes that you might want to date. my ex was talking to him and suddenly Mike came running across the street trying to hit him. she was crying saying Mike was out of control, he was at her house, now 11pm, took off with her truck and credit card, and was acting crazy.

In the car she confessed she is aware this man is collecting disability for being mentally ill.

Then she told me in the same email that I won't be able to stop him from being around the children. I think the email is really damning evidence that she is not making safe decision for the kids.

We have a court date in september, my worst fear would be that the judge decides that he will be able to be around the kids and I can't do anything about it. He is actually scheduled for a probation violation hearing tommorow at 9am. His sentencing for the felonious assault and domestic violence is at the end of september. She WILL have a new man in less than 2 days and she will have him around the kids.

I begged her she shouldn't have this stranger around the kids (4,1)She persisted and within a week he was driving one of our vehicles.

Within 2 days of meeting him she had him at her house, and spending time with the kids.
